I had an HVAC specialist come in today to my house and found i have a circulation issue on the second floor and i do not have enough returns on the second floor to pull the hot air out to cool the second floor.

Is there something i can use to remove the hot air from the second floor to allow the air conditioning to cool the second floor?

The work to do this to add return vents is going to be a few thousand dollars and i was wondering if there's something else i can use like a double fan for the window turned backwards to act as an exhaust fan possibly?

That would just pull in fresh hot humid air through cracks and other openings in the house, and make the A/C work harder and not cool as well.

Depending how open your landing is, a ceiling fan might help to get more cool air up to the second floor.

Yeah you are right. I guess i didn't think about it that way.
We have ceiling fans in both bedrooms.
There is only 1 return on the 2nd floor and it's in the master bedroom.
No other returns upstairs. The 1 return is functioning pretty well; however i guess it's not function as well.
What if i made the return that does exist bigger?
