I ended up extending the opening another couple of inches up the wall. This allowed enough cable into the box to make the connections. Now I have sheet rock to plug and finish.
I really like the screw in place Smart Box; however, the cable retainers were a disappointment. After I opened up the bottom of the V shaped retainer, the retainers would not open for the cable insertion. Using a box cutter I had to shave the pieces so those would open.
BTW, my Smart Box was 22.5 C.I. for the mounting of a GFCI and it was packed full. I used (5) AlumiConn's converting from aluminum wires to copper for the GFCI. Used a torque screwdriver on aluminum and copper.
