Hi,Expanding the support LVLs ; and Structural engineer recommended to use 10 ft long 2 * 16" LVLs . currently - there are 2*6 plates between roof Joists and Load Beam;is it must to have wood plates between roof Joists & LVL or
Can we remove these 2*6 wood Plates and have the LVLs touch the roof joists?your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

i have my own thoughts on the plates but you have to take that up with the engineer who spec'd the beam. reason being if the plates are spec'd and they arent there when it gets inspected the work will fail unless the engineer approves the removal of the plate

There is nothing that I know of that prohibits a framing member from touching the lvl. It's not like the prohibition on untreated wood touching the concrete foundation. And not actually seeing what you re doing its hard to give any definates. Things of potential concern would be as already noted if it was exceed out WITH the plates, also any potential difference in the height of the unit in question, I.e. Perhaps 1 1/2" difference which could throw off your roof pitch. Ron
