Hi,
I'm having problems with a 3t HP. My suction is running at 45psi and head is at 110psi. I checked evap coil and filter and both were clean, so I figured it was low on R22. I added 7 lbs. (factory charge is 7.25 lbs) and pressures did not change. The suction line is frosting up to the compressor. I'm starting to think I have a bad reversing valve. Any help will be great. Thanks

At those pressures, its not a reversing valve problem.

Switch it to heat mode, I bet the head pressure sky rockets.

Refrigerant restriction

beenthere: Where would I find the restriction, most likely? I have a HP with same problem as the other guy. I took the piston metering device off and it looks good. Shouldn't I have another metering device? Would it be at the evap, connected to the dist tubes?
