I am having a gas water heater, electric well pressure tank, and water softener installed in a wardrobe closet at my summer cottage. Is installing sliding doors that have louvered only on the top half good enough for air flow?
Code requires an in take high and low. So only on the top won't pass an inspection. A gas fired appliance in an apparel closet isn't a good idea. Lint is very combustible.
I would go with an elec tank instead. Gas can be dangerous if fumes spill from it and you don't want them near any living area. If the room was sealed and had a pipe from outside to let combustion air in that would be better. with a cottage then you have to worry about squirrels etc getting in thru it. elec is the best for cottages.
