Just quoted a client for a lennox OEM part 48K98 blower board for a G20 to have him come back at me saying that part is available on multiple online sites in lennox packaging for 1/2 to 2/3rds less than what the local lennox quoted to me.
I called lennox head office and they confirmed their quote price but couldn't explain why their own brand part was 2 - 3 times the cost over what the online sites were selling????

Anyone run into this?? Is some major lennox supplier dumping stock??

Lennox has different tier pricing for their dealers depending on how much stuff you buy and I am sure most wholesalers do as well. Larger Lennox dealers get better pricing than smaller ones and GM etc do the same with cars. Probably the customer is lying or your Lennox dealer is not being good to you. C'est la Vie. You never win with these clowns who debate pricing with you. My Boss called out one of them and asked him if he would offer his product that his business sells at 1/3 to 2/3 less because we found it cheaper on the net. No way buddy said.

same thing as buying a dealer part v. getting something off the internet. Internet part may or may not work fine. it may or may not be a genuine part. you may or may not be able to get support for it. certainly not onsite support.

also I see you are in CA. verify that that price is in CDN and delivered with no worries on customs.

It's easy to test out the customers story.
Try googling 48K98 Lennox and numerous sites come up selling this part and at least the pictures shows the lennox packaging & instructions.
Visually it's the same board.
Amazon cost = $69.00 for example!

Lennox cost = $183.00

Lennox Head office also googled this part when I phoned to complain and said it looked like their OEM packaging but they couldn't explain why the on line pricing was so much lower than dealer pricing.

Are you a small or large Lennox dealer? Sounds high for a board for a G20.

Cozyparts.com is $124.17 for it.

I agree. I can get it for less. Unfortunately some brands are selling their parts to non dealers and myself for list price I am seeing/experiencing. Cozys won't ship to Canada and there are a few places selling Lennox parts in Canada but I don't know if they are legit, Cozys is.

cozys is very tight with lennox and gets dealer prices from them due to the large amount they sell it seems. customer cannot expect us to not mark it up and when he sees cozys prices is where all the trouble starts.

I hardly ever deal with lennox, just enough to have an account with them. I have no experience buying parts on line because I live in a big enough city that I can directly pick up what I need and know what I'm buying. Thermisters for ecm motors being the exception.
My customer is willing to pay my prices but was also rightfully questioning what he assumed (from checking the net) to be my 300+% parts mark up.
$69.00 list price to my price.

Years ago, when I was a GM at a company, that was not a Lennox dealer. We would often get our Lennox parts from one of the Lennox dealers when we needed the part fast. We had an agreement with them, they only charged us 10% mark up, so it kept us competitive with them and other Lennox dealers.

You might be able to make an arrangement/agreement with one of the Lennox dealers in your area.

no way you can get it for $69. even a top notch lennox dealer cannot get it for that. something stinks. maybe they are selling freight damaged stuff. truck overtuned and was on fire. LOL:laughing:

Yep, agree here, deal with locals. New boards don't always mean they are good boards. Most good dealers always make it right.

If I bought it for $69, I'd give them a fake phone number and use a credit card with $69 on it that I'd never use again. And I'd still need to see that the company has been around a while and read Amazon comments. When I received it, I'd compare it to a part I know to be genuine.

And if it wasn't. When you would call them to return it. they would authorize the return, since they wouldn't be able to verify you cause of the fake phone number you gave them.

How would you compare it to a "genuine" part. Since the "genuine" part may have already been superseded/obsoleted 3 or more times already.
