not sure where else to put this so here goes..

This is the staircase to go into basement. As you see in the pictures there is a little nook/floor shelf space where we put our brooms and mops. However even with the small space we have I have to think there is a better way of doing this thatn what we currently have going on now.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to maximize and make this more efficient or at least NOT so darn sloppy....?

My worry is one day its gonna make a body trip....

Let me know what you got or think?

Regards,

Sean P

What I do is .

Drill a pilot hole in the end of the wooden broom handles, install a screweye and hang em on a finish nail up high enough to get em off the floor.

You can adapt other hardware to the other kinds of handles easily.

Your solution is even better , because most stuff I've bought at Menards already has the hole in the handle !

correct, rail on the left side...

cubbies? Is that another word for shelves, not sure how that would help with holding up brooms and mops?

please advise!

Thank you for the reply!

You could do some build out cubbies and mount one of these to the from of them. They work well.
