I have had a small theatre in my basement for the past three years. My basement is finished with a drywall ceiling. Behind the stairway in the basement is unfinished leading to a laundry room. All my lighting is controlled by my universal remote and definatly adds to that theatre effect I am looking for. My only complaint, there is only one light at the bottom of the stairs and I am trying to figure out a creative way to either add some recesed lighting on the wall near the stairs or even maybe some rope lighting some how without looking chinsey. I am hoping to find someone who has done something similar and has product experiences or reccomendations, Thanks for your help!

Why not add some funky wall scones?

high up or down low? We are going to add some movie posters and art work going down the stairs as well and we have walls going down both sides. I want it to be well lighted but not over bearing.
