I am removing a load bearing wall upstairs. Am I safe if I have one of the load points resting on a foundation wall or exterior wall?

Below are pictures. The garage picture is the bottom floor. In the other picture I'm removing that wall (the wall with the return air on the bottom) the load point will go right into the wall (where the door is at). In extends down to the wall in the garage.

Depends on how much of it is load bearing if the load is right over it yes if not u need a header(blind or exposed)

Don't know if I'm comprehending but load bearing refers to weight above it. So if u remove the wall with the vent if there is weight above that wall u need to support it

Sorry. I didn't explain well. I am moving that wall and putting a beam in place. The beam has two load points. One on both ends. I was wondering if one of those load points will be okay if it was located above the foundation wall. From my understanding the load bearing has to go all the way into the foundation

Judging by the pics the joists go perpendicular with that wall and they r probably seemed over the wall so u would probably need header.

Should be ok just need to determine of your beam can support the weight above always prepare for more. R u putting in better header, steel plated, or just 2x 10

all load bearing points must be brought down to the foundation to properly support the loads. you have to determine the minimum bearing area depending on what that is, i.e., concrete, sill plate, etc.
