[Estranged]

Just wondering if someone can tell me what these lines are in my cement it's not caused any problems they've been there since the cement was poured a year ago it seems they show up more after I wash it down, I did just recently added a cement sealer.

Crazing cracks like that are usually from the curing process... Concrete that dries out too quickly or unevenly can do that. It's why they suggest wetting or covering concrete for several days until it has has a chance to significantly cure. It's likely been there from day one.

What I see there is evidence of "dry troweling".

Where the let it dry a little, before finish troweling it , this creates a splotchy finish, and is supposed to mimic aging.

Those are stress cracks, probably from drying too fast in the beginning.

If they widen, it needs replaced.

If they stay as is. Fugeddaboutit.

Thanks again, I'm hoping for the best it has been like that since they poured it last August with no new lines appearing just the ones originally from that time

The surface dried first, due to the August heat, but the core still cured for days, thus causing a little stress on the surface.

Give it a couple of years, to see if it starts flaking and popping off.

Maybe it won't, maybe it will.

Hi X , from when I remember now is it has been there since day one I know I did wet it down as per the gentleman's instructions I just can't remember the details of how I did it and what I did

Hi Neal , I agree, I actually did seal it with a Thompson's Sealer last week I've given it 3 coats just because the seal seemed a bit watery after it was stirred so I don't know if that's the way it's supposed to be or not

it says do a water test afterwards then which I let it seal for 24 hours each coat and then put the water on it, it did roll off so it seems to be working.

I'm a put a few more seals on before the winter time I'm just wondering if anybody would recommend dry locking it or if that would be bad for it I'm not even sure if drylok will work now because it goes into the pores of the cement and with the sealer on it may defeat the purpose

I would leave it as is now and check the seal every year.
