I want to put 2" thick limestone "caps" or slabs on top of the concrete block wall of my deck to finish it off. The deck will be covered with a roof and the walls will be finished off as well. The deck is going to be built over a room in my basement. I am concerned about water and my question is this: How pourous is limestone and, if it is, how can I seal it?

Limestone is porous and sealer only helps slightly. Sealer is more to protect from premature ware and surface staining or discoloring. but 2" limestone will not really let water through it.
