Hi there,

We had these lights Installed by an electrician a few years back. The other day, I mistakenly/without thinking put a halogen bulb in it (it had the same base, correct wattage) and now the fixture won't work with any bulbs.

Aside from replacing the fixture, is there anything I can do to try fix it?

Thanks for any help with fixing my mistake. :)

Should not have mattered, thaat gulb still should have worked.
Going to have to start by seeing if there's power to the socket, look at the tab inside the fixture to see if it just needs to be pulled out some so it can make contact with the builb.
Checking the breaker by turning it all the way off and back on again.
Checking for tripped GFI.
Checking for loose or burned wiring.

If it had caused a short, it would have tripped a breaker. No, most likely you have either a open in the fixture causing the problem, or a open at a junction inside the box that is above the fixture, or somewhere else.

Something like this should be fixable !
Replace the burnt out lamp base,
Get a good quality base, not a cheapie !
Trim back any damaged wiring,
If heat build up is a problem
then use CFL's.
However cfls, also dont like heat build up.
But it will make the new base last much longer.

EASY AS !
