Why Did Leviton eliminate the #2 phillips head screws on their outlets/switches?

Large head triple-drive combination screws (Standard, Phillips, Robertson) for fast wiring installation

Looks like I am partially correct. They do have R2 capacity, but not at the expense of Phillips.

i stepped down to a #1 phillips and got them off . I guess i 'll have to add a "robertson " to the tool box
What is the advantage of th Robertson?maybe Leviton has the patent on the design?
or better yet not buy any more Levitons

P&S is also using the Robertson screwheads. But they are R1 (and come to think of it, Leviton is also using R1).

Pretty much everyone makes these. I am a convert myself. Always thought they were lame, now I can't be without one. I keep one in my personal truck, kitchen drawer, garage tool box, etc.

Square heads (Robertson) is a world standard from what I have seen. For once we are taking a good example from the rest of the world instead of going off on our own (ie: std vs. metric).

Robertson is fine with me.....if your into wood working, a many of the screws now are Robertson....

I have used the Robertson as well over here in European side we do like it as well.
