My contractor put what I think is LevelQuik Latex Primer on an interior cinderblock wall that is to be patched with a scratchcoat. His rationale was that the old cinderblock (75 yo) was so dry and porous that it needed to be primed with a bonding agent and that this primer would help with adhesion. But from reading product documentation, I don't really see anything about using this on walls. In fact, the Sika latex additive specifically says that, if used as a primer, it is "for acrylic coatings only". Meaning paint.

So do you think LevelQuik Latext Primer on an old cinderblock wall will help or hurt adhesion of a new scratchcoat?

why do you think acrylic means only paint ? we would've used sprayer bottles/pump cans w/water but i'm not going to 2nd guess your contractor of choice when there's so little information

would you rather that block wall had been wet ? of course its dry - its INSIDE
