Could be low on charge,txv not working correctly,weak capacitor, compressor internal relief opening....
Not much you can check without the right tools.
Leave it off. You're going to burn up the compressor unless you get the thing diagnosed and fixed. Back on page 1 I gave a list of things that make a compressor overheat. Get any of them checked yet?
