Leaky shower pan

Our master bathroom floor has a severe leak that is destroying our floor. I am not sure whether the leak is coming from the toilet bowl or the shower pan. I want to replace the subfloor and install new tile but I want to make sure that the leak is fixed first so it doesn't happen again.

Is there a way to check each of these items to see where the leak is coming from?
