Hello,
I can not get the cover off of the old the cartridge. It doesn't pop off or seem to unscrew. There are no little screws holding it in place. Not sure how to replace the cartridge if the top cover doesn't come off. Thank you for helping!

Thank you guys for your help. These are maybe 10+ years old. Yes there was a lock washer I undid it and I sprayed DW-40 on top and underneath up into the cover(pictured.)

I tried pulling up, down and prying the top part using vise grips + wrenches to twist the cover off it's super stuck no movement.

Going forward for next time, you can also get a faucet handle/sleeve puller at any big box store for about 10 bucks to prevent the scarring of the sleeve.

Kind of late now, I know. Looks like you scared up the sleeve pretty good trying to take it off.

Take everything to a plumbing supply, or hardware store and try to match it up. You might get lucky at a big box store.

If it's a name brand like moen, delta, pp, etc. They may send you out everything you need at no charge.

Wow heat was the answer to the impossible stuckness! Now I am not sure if this is the right part? It is a bit different than the old piece. I tried to force it in and it kinda stops at this point. I was thinking maybe a rubber mallet--but seems like not great idea...

Try inserting the stem (cartridge) in the valve body with the cartridge in the open position. That is, with the cartridge turned so that any water or air trapped in the valve body can come out the spout as you push the cartridge in.

Sooo-I sanded and cut the edge of the white bottom piece with scissors and the cartridge goes in just a tiny bit more-- but still not enough(it is impossible for me to force it more without maybe hammering it).*

-I took out the bottom blue stopper from the old one and put it in the new and I got to the same spot before it can't go down further.

My thought it the problem is that the black rubber ring on the new part is just too fat, if you look at the old one the black rubber ring is flat not round like this one.*

Next I could sand the new black ring down?

You shouldn't need to force it in with a hammer. If you are able to modify it enough to get it to fit I'm almost certain it will leak all over the place. In my opinion it's time to abandon the idea of using the ill fitting replacement and start looking for a replacement of the correct size.

Hello All,
Now the silver hose line that connects the faucet to the handle has a leak in the middle of the hose(I wrapped it in duct tape and garbage + bucket to catch water). The leak from the hose got worse so I want to take the old hose off but it is kinda stuck at the top. I sprayed it with dw-40. It is such an awkward spot I don't have wrenches small enough to get a grip.

Should I pull the whole thing up to unscrew the hose attached to the bottom?
Thank you

Do any of you think I could use some sort of epoxy to glue around the hole in the net in the middle of the small hose? I wonder if a good epoxy and duct tape would be a good enough patch to fix the hose.

I went to the hardware store and there wasn't any the same size. I was told it is "proprietary." The sink is Kohler brand but I am not sure how to look for this particular hose.

thank you
