Hi,

I have a Kohler single handle faucet that leaks from the handle AFTER I turn the water off. I replaced the cartridge with a new one, with the hopes that it would fix the problem, but no luck. I've noticed that if I pull the spray head down, it doesn't seem to leak (or at least as much).

It seems to me that there's some pressure buildup in the spray head that is coming back through the handle. I don't know how to fix this though.

Here's the faucet I have.

Here's a picture I took of what's going on:

Any thoughts on what I should do?

Thanks,
PB2

Turn off water and recheck your work. Remove handle, remove cartridge, check and make sure retaining nut is secure, o-ring didn't crimp, etc. Use some plumbers grease on cartridge. Reinstall, and try again, check for leaks.

I'll do that. It does seem like if it was sealed a little better this might not leak. I didn't see an o ring, where would that go? Also, I didn't use plumber's grease. What does that do?

If still no better, you can call or go to kohlers website for assistance. Have your faucets model number. They are a very reputable company and will help you out. They will even send free replacement parts if needed.

It may be something simple you're forgetting or not doing correctly. Hope you get it figured out and up and running correctly soon.

Very nice faucet btw.
