I believe my shower is leaking wher the goose neck threads into the plumbing behind the wall. i have taken the goose neck off and retaped it and threaded back in. Leak is still there, but less. Suggestions? other problems?

Damaged threads on the pipe, or in the fitting, look in with a flashlight. Worst case, cracked fitting. Damaged threads can usually be gapped with tape and or pipe dope/putty. Cracked fitting will have to be replaced. Easier to access from behind, even if you have to tear out drywall, easier to fix than tile.

As Bill suggests, inspect the threads the best you can...the goose neck will tell you a lot about what's happening in the wall. I'd take your fitting out again; clean, re-tape AND apply some plumbing pipe dope in addition to the tape. When you install it, protect the pipe and snug it up well.

Might want to try a new goose neck, the threads might be worn or corroded.

Showerhead arm pipe is usually very thin. I am guessing that there is a crack near the top of the threads on the arm.
