My shop building, and the garage, have vertical-ribbed steel siding, and peaked roofs. At some time in the past, the main building and the garage were joined with an in-between section that is approx 6 feet narrower than the other two, with a 'flat' roof. Apparently there was no flashing used, because there is none visible now. Because of settling (The main building was built in 1900) there are now gaps at each end, and the water is coming in. I have no money to hire a roofer, and no clue what to do now. I have photos, if that helps. Thanks for any suggestions you can make.

Arby, sorry to say there is no magic wand for leaks, but then that is true for most other things.

Since this is your first post, here are things things that will help get you a response:

  1. What is your location? Location matters e.g. Alaska vs Florida
  2. Photos of the problem? See the 2nd Thread for directions (top of page}
  3. What is your experience with fixing problems like this?
  4. Is the flat roof section also Metal?
