Bear in mind that grout alone is not waterproof, so even if the grout is in good shape the shower could have been constructed improperly. Water could be getting in anywhere, but I doubt that water permeating the grout would actually cause anything more than moisture problems in the wall and floor, but not actual visible leaks.

Check to make sure everything is caulked correctly. The next stop is to remove the ceiling beneath the shower since that drywall is already screwed up. See if the trap or drain is leaking. Then open the wall from the back side to try to find plumbing leaks in the mixing valve or other supply plumbing.
