Once you remove the grass you don't like, just put the sod down. You don't need to spray any type of grass killer. One area of my lawn ( perhaps 50 sq feet ) has been taken over by grass that I don't particularly like. My plan is to remove that grass with a shovel, then spray the area with Total Wipeout to make sure it does not come back, then lay the sod overtop ( of course raking the soil to break it up and perhaps some starter fertilizer, etc )
My question is - How long should I wait from the time I spray the herbicide to when I can lay the sod overtop ?
Or perhaps I should be spraying the herbicide on the grass before I remove it, but I thought spraying the area after mechanically removing the grass best ensures that I get rid of all of it.
