Hi everyone,
The entryway in my split-level home has an opening between the living room floor and the foyer ceiling. The distance from the wall to the corner is 70 inches. Right now it has this ugly railing that I was to replace with a laser-cut steel screen made out of 1/8 inch steel.
The screen will be attached to the top and bottom with some tabs bent at 90 degrees.
My concern is that a screen that's 36 x 70 inches may be unstable and/or bend.
Has anyone had experience with this type of railing?
Thanks.

It will be unsafe. Replace the current railing with a new one that is prettier and still will prevent someone getting injured - which is why it is there. Or put in a pony wall.
Why do you think it will be unsafe? The current railing is only attached by 3 points, if you think about it. The screen will have at least 4 on top and 4 on the bottom...

Ayuh,..... I like the one in yer picture, with 8 attachment points,.....

Even with 4 points, you'd have to be bound, 'n determined to crash through it,.....

I see No safety concerns,...... Go for it,.....
