Hello all! I am consumer and needs some assistance with my lot.

I have an 800' long and 240' wide lot (5 acres) with a house going up there. A high concentration subdivision will eventually be coming in right next door on the north side, and I want to preserve as much as possible the privacy, green and rural feel of my lot. I basically want to as little as possible see this subdivision.

I am deciding whether to spend big bucks and just buy the lot next to me, or put perhaps much less money on some nice privacy landscaping and mature trees to keep the subdivision at bay.

What are my options and how well can I best cover up this subdivision? I am in Texas.

See photo attached. Thanks! And advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looks to me that you are in a Zone 8 area, and I would also recommend the lilac planting.
You could plan to plant catclaw acacia and lilac in a row for appearance, or go the easy route of checking a local nursery for fast growing deciduous trees.
