How should I frame and support landing and step for shop entrance?

Rise is 13 1/2” off of lawn.
Double Garden Door Outswing opening is 75” wide.

Was thinking 2 box steps - lower box attached to bldg via ledger, but I won't have enough room below that box for a beam and plyex to pickup the load?

Just build a 2x6 frame and nail it to the wall so the finished height will be 7" below the floor. Drive treated stakes inside the front to nail to add flashing like a ledger and add decking.

That seems a lot easier than what I proposed. Stakes will hold long term?

Nails are fine? No need for hangers or dynabolts?

Nails or screws, Use screws into the stakes so if it start to sag you just adjust the screws from the outside.

How deep would you make this step?

I had envisioned it being a larger steps up but the way you’ve drawn it, a natural step would be 12 ish deep?

For the stakes, are you talking about 2x2 PT stakes?

a step is around 12 inches and a landing is 36" but who's looking.

When you drive stakes deep they tend to splinter, I would start with 2x4s

If they don't drive easy you can always dig a hole and plant a post.:wink2:
