Hi there,

I am installing a half inch laminate flooring on a stairwell with a platform and 90 degree turn. I am using stair nose pieces and I need help figuring out what to do on the platform and the side of the stair that is visible. I will post pictures to help you understand.

On the side all you do is cut laminate and liquid nail it. make sure and cut the exact profile of the step so the stair nose will over lap the sides.

use the material you are using for your risers and miter it around that step just above the platform. Do the same for the step right above it. Have the nosing material run the full width of the platform that way it will cover the joint where the top riser of the lower section meets the riser of the upper section. Also run miter the nosing on that upper step and run it back to the drywall. The nosing will cover the next joint.
