In my kitchen i have Ceramic Tile, can i put in Laminate Floor (floating floor) over the ceramic. Just didn't want the hassle of tearing out ceramic.Thanks?

Yep--you sure can---before you get your heart set on that, checkand make sure you have room to remove the dish washer.

A trapped dishwasher is a real serious problem----

Do I need to put down a vapor barrier? There is a basement under neath.

Just make sure you really want laminate in your kitchen. I know a lot of people go with it because it's easy to do but laminate and water do not mix. I would go with a vinyl plank type laminate in a kitchen before true laminate.

If you add laminate--you need the foam or rubber pad--but a separate vapor barrier is not needed.

Be prepared for the noise. Laminate over ceramic can be noisy.
