I had a shop/shed built in my backyard and I am turning it into a craft room. But I have run into a problem. All the supplies and furniture that is going in there is currently stored in my husbands garage. He is now insisting that we move it all into this shop. I plan on adding electricity, insulation, and wallboard. But I need to put the laminate flooring in before the wallboard goes up on the walls so I can move all my stuff out of his garage. Is it possible to put laminate flooring down before. The wallboard goes up on the walls?

That is foolish----the dust and grit can get under the laminate ---and all over the new floor---rent a tent when you dry wall---move everything into there for the week it will take to drywall and add your floor and trim---

I know it is. But we are running short on funds. So no money right now to rent a tent. Doing this on a shoestring budget. I do not know what else to do. I can lay down drop cloths on the flooring so nothing happens to it while we drywall. So is it possible to put the laminate in without having drywall up?

Yes, It will be more work---but sure if you can protect the floor well and tape the edges when you drywall--go for it---use craft paper to protect the floor---plastic might react with the laminate and cause discoloring----

just wait to put down the laminate. put your stuff in the shed. when it comes time to do some work, do it on sunny days and move you stuff on onto the lawn.
