Laminate flooring

We are going to lay laminate flooring in our family room, down the hallway and into the bedrooms that adjoin the hallway. Should the Laminate be laid lengthwise down the hall and flow the same direction into the bedrooms or should we use transitions pieces between the hallway and bedrooms.

What is the manufacturers recommendation for continuious square footage? Floating, glue-down, nailed? I would go length-wise down the hallway, and the same direction in the bedrooms. The bedroom entries may need a transision to break up the continious footage.
