Hello
I went to Lumber liquidators and they are doing some sales on 12 mm laminate
The one we like comes with a pad already attached
I do know that additional underlayment is not requested with pre-attached pad laminate, since it can be too springy and break the tongues and grooves
But I've seen several post where people were using the "Quiet Walk" underlayment for noise reduction, and more comfort
I will install mine on the 2nd floor

What do you think?
And by the way,what do you think about lumber Liquidators vs Lowes Allen+Roth laminate (10mm) for example?

personally i wouldn't buy anything from LL after all the negative reviews I read about them. they are not the cheapest place to buy like they lead you to believe. if you don't follow the manufacturers installation instructions your warranty will be invalid. adding padding under laminate is not a good idea.

Is it that bad?
They have some 12mm laminate with padding from $1.59 to $2.39...The last one looks good by the way. They have another one (Butterscotch oak) at $2.07....looks good too
Lowe's has their own brand (Allen+Roth) 10mm with padding for $1.99. I did install ~270sq.ft of their Russet oak in my family room, and it went well. But I am looking for something different for my whole 2nd floor
The good point for Lowe's is the return policy: 3 months, no fee. LL has 1 month with 20% restocking fees.....!!!!

Lowes doesnt stick to the 3 month policy. I have returned stuff using my MyLowes card, without a receipt, for cash back, nearly a year after purchase. Opened and everything. Lowes is great about no-hassle returns

Does cork underlaymnt comes in roll?
Where can I find it?

Does it bring sound reduction with laminate with pre-attached pad, or is it "overkill"/won't make a difference?

I feel cork is not too soft so it should not be an issue to use with existing padding, but I prefer to ask and be sure.....

Yes it comes in a roll.
Lots of places sell it, even LL but there prices are to high in my opion.
I'd contact the flooring manufacture before doing anything.
Not a big fan of laminite of a second floor, figure out how you plan on triming it out around the stair way, that's where the biggest issue often comes in.
