Recently, the hot water in the shower in our master bath has been getting colder and colder. After verifying the water heater elements are still working fine, I compared hot water temperatures at various locations in the house. The hot water temperature at every fixture is very close, except for this shower. The shower was almost 10 degrees cooler than the sink 5' away from it. I'm assuming that points to the shower cartridge, correct?
The second part of my question is about the cartridge itself. I figured out how to remove it, but can't identify it based on the numbers stamped on it. It says HL-40 on it, but the google results don't give me a picture of one exactly like mine, where the handle attaches is different. The faucet itself is made by Cleveland Faucet Group, but I don't have a model number or any documentation. I'm pretty sure it's not the original cartridge; I think it was replaced the first week or two we were in the house because there was no hot water at all in that shower. Here are a couple of pictures of the cartridge.
