Did it again today.

On the spin cycle it starts to move, but the motor sounds like it is straining. Something clicks like a reset button even though there doesn't appear to be one. The motor.gives off a hot type smell. After awhile it will try and start but the same thing happens. I don't believe it is overloaded.
Bad motor?

Over four posts you have provided very little information, but I did figure out that it is a model of Maytag clothes washer. If you search 'Maytag LA212 won't spin' you get a number of hits. Some say it needs belt(s). Or it could be the transmission is shot.
