I’m in need of a L14-30 plug that will accept 8 gauge wire. I understand it’s rayed at 30 amps. I just need to run a little longer cord and would like to use 8 gauge to reduce voltage drop.

Thank you for your response. That never occurred to me. I just did the calculations and it is. I guess I can go buy a few and see if any work. I wasn’t sure if anyone had done something similar.

You can splice a #10 to the #8 to fit the receptacle if needed.
