how do i tell which lead of the nobe and tube wire hooks to the white or black lead of romex?
Test for voltage potential by measuring from a ground point .
I usually plug an extension cord into a receptacle with a good ground.
Run the extension cord to where you wish to test and use its ground pin as a reference point.
You can also buy a battery powered tester that signals when its near a conductor with voltage on it. Mine cost me $20.

Some jurisdictions may not allow k&t revisions, but not all!

If you can able run new cable to get around the old T&K you will be fine and per NEC code we can NOT extend the old T&K or ungrounded romexs so give you a head up on that one.

Basically the same rules I Have in Paris France.

Merci,
Marc
