The ice maker is inside the refrgerator, top left. It's supposed to dispense ice into the bucket in the door, and then the auger releases it when the lever on the door is pressed.
In my case, it makes ice up top but never leaves the compartment. I replaced the fill tube heater and the ice maker itself. The panel in front of the ice maker has a wire that heats and is connected to the ice maker.
I spoke to Kitchenaid and they said to check the panel for continuity and if it has it, then it's an issue at control board. Panel has continuity, but I haven't pulled the board yet.
By random chance, does anyone have thoughts or similar experience? I appreciate it in advance. Would like to stop buying parts.

Correct.
I ordered a new front plate which has a wire that connects to the ice maker and should signal the dump. I’ll try that and see how it goes.

Are you able to tell if the "dump" fingers are actually rotating?

I think so, only based on when it makes ice I hear it bang against the flap but the flap doesn’t open.
