I am hoping someone could steer me in the right direction. My kitchen sink is leaking into my basement. The bottom of the cabinet underneath the sink is all wet. The water is not flowing directly from the pipe that lead to the bottom of the cabinet toward the basement. Something in that area looks disturbed. There was a metal ring that sat underneath the pipe but that pipe has become dislodged. Can someone help? I have attached a photo

I looked with a flash light but did not seen anything unusual besides where the pipe (I think should connect to the floor). The pipe does not connect to the floor and that is where the water issue is.
Ayuh,.... Drain pipes don't connect to the floor, they connect to other drain pipes,...

Go to the cellar, 'n find the missin' pipe,....

Why are you using a fernco? Can't see the pipe coming up from the basement.

Are the pipes dissimilar? If not, just glue the proper pvc fitting and be done with it.

If drain pipes are dissimilar (Pvc to cast, etc.) use a proflex no hub coupler. Just a suggestion.

Please wait for the plumbers to respond. Thanks.

Obviously the pipe we see approaching the bottom of the cabinet just... ends. Is it attached to anything above? If water is going through it, water will come out. Maybe the coupling was not done up securely and the lower pipe is unsupported and fell out after time passed.

If it is easy to move, I would try to bring the lower pipe back up into the coupling. (Ideally replace the coupling with a new one that has a metal band around it while you're at it) Tighten the coupling to be secure but don't crush the pipe. You may or may not need a helper to push the lower pipe up to you.
