Hello,
I just installed new cabinets and a countertop with backsplash etc. We added outlets however our electrician has filed bankruptcy and won't call us back. The outlets are all wired but need recepticles installed. I have done that before but I don't know what the code is as far as which ones should be GFI etc. THe two by the sink are not GFI which surprised me. We live in NH if that makes any difference as far as state vs national code.

Welcome!

All kitchen coutnertop recepts are to be GFCI protected, to include any recepts in an island. There should be two circuits. Hence two GFCI recepts can provide protection for all recepts if wired correctly.

Sorry I should have provided more information. We had some existing outlets and added more to the area we added cabinets/countertops. We have a breakfast bar now which also has outlets. So they are ALL GFI?
