I have a kenmore 790.95680302 electric range. Yesterday I went to bake dinner at 350 deg when I found 20 minutes later the broiler element was on high, and the oven was over 700 deg.

I tried disconnecting the wires to the broiler element, taping them, to see if the oven would heat. It did not. So the bake element isn't working at all either.

What might the diagnostic steps be to track down the faulty part? I have the wiring diagram but are unsure what to test, or do I just replace the electronic oven control?

Thanks

I am by no means a repairmen, I just barely stumble through some repairs, but to me it seems the contacts in the controls are stuck shut, my guess would be replace the controls.
