One of my desk lamps took a dive off of a set of shelves in to a pile of dirty laundry today. When it landed, the light went out. Upon further inspection, i discovered that the light bulb wasnt broken, and that the two plastic pieces of the socket that were supposed to be screwed together were chipped, but easy enough to reattatch. I then plugged the lamp in, and it worked just fine... but when i plugged it in where it had been pluggged in when it fell, it would not turn on. I plugged a candle warmer in to the same outlet, and it did not work either. I went to my electrical box and flipped every switch off and then back on, and the outlet still will not work. Please tell me i can fix this myself. I cant afford to pay someone to do it. Help!!!

It sounds like the outlet was damaged---changing an outlet is not to difficult---a couple of screw drivers will do--are you interested in instructions?
