Question,
I had my bathroom redone two years ago, along with a jacuzzi tub with an in-line heater. I have to also tell you I have a 40 gal. Hot water tank as well. The jacuzzi is called Katheryn, made by Kohler. I totally forgot about the water issue and the jacuzzi. Its been two tears and no baths can be taken due to hot water filling up the jacuzzi quarter ways before going cold.
I have been thinking about putting in a tankless hot water tank. Is this a good idea? Do I put in a larger 50 gal tank? Mind you space is very limited. Please help.

That would work if you do not mind spending a few thousand on buying one and up grading the supplys.

If you were going to put in a tankless ONLY for the bathtub, I think you would probably find that it works pretty well.

Of course you have to factor in the cost of the heater 1200 +

The cost of running a gas line (or bringing in a second 200A electrical service if you go electric)

as well as having the current lines to the tub capped off and rerouted to the new heater.

For a whole house, I don't think they are so great.

All that said, I think it's a whole lot of money just to take a bath. about 1000 bucks is what it would cost for me to install an 80 gallon water heater.

I think as a whole, it would be simpler to put in a 66 or 80 gallon water heater in place of your 40.

Also : You do realize that the heater in the jacuzzi line isn't really a heater, it's a temperature maintainer.
