joist to ledger connection, angle of cut.

I'm going to build an elevated deck and it will have a 3" slope over a 12' span. When I attach my 2x10 joist to the ledger should I cut the end slightly angled so the whole end touches the ledger face?

Why the slope? Is this a deck with spaced boards or a waterproof deck?

Ron this is the same project you were helping me on in this thread http://www.diychatroom.com/f19/deck-garage-underneath-water-leaks-42887/

It will have a fiberglass surface so the water needs to drain away from the house.

I knew that.
They have joist hangers that adjust to pitched situations like yours. You don't want to use the regular hangers as they don't support the weight over the bracket bottom.

Make sure you flash (under the moisture barrier) and counterflash that ledger and apply silicone to through bolts. If you use lag screws, you are on your own or have a sloppy code and very quick or lazy inspector.
what is the rationale behind these actions?
I've reviewed a number of you posts and most of them are inane drivel.
If you don't have the experience or intelligence to contribute, shut up.
