The county inspector failed a plumbing change with the following note
"Need repair for over floor joist. ( plumbing pipe)".
This was a pre-existing issue and all we did now was to change the drain pipe and reroute it on the other side.
How do I repair this joist? This is in the basement, below the kitchen. The entire joist spans 12 ft. and is a 2 * 10. The notch is close to the end that sits on a Girder.
What's the worst case scenario? Will I have to drill a hole in the wall for the drain pipe and sister the joist to cover the notched area?
Thanks!
