We have a jet pump for our water system in the basement and it's pretty loud (despite being new -- less than 1 year old). Any ideas on ways to reduce the sound? I've read about some people using box enclosures to help...does that actually help?

Thanks!

I'm not really knowledgeable on wells but I have had insulated boxes built around pressure booster pumps. Be sure to check and make sure you can enclose the pump you have without overheating it. Also, has it always been noisy or is the noise new? If it's new you have another issue to look into.

Ayuh,.... I'd think an insulated box would help,....

It's gotta be vented though,...

Puttin' a rubber mat under the pump might help too,...
Say a doubled up or tripled truck mudflap,....

Is the pipin' metal, or plastic,..??

Goin' to a submersible pump will fix it for sure,.... ;)
