JFI2089AES2 I picked this up used in August last year.. tested it in the garage for 2 months before putting it in service in the basement... I did have it freeze my test water bottles so along with the drain mod and new ice maker to door seal, I changed out the fridge and freezer thermisters. Damper works fine in diagnostic mode. one thing I did notice during my testing was that my meter says the ice box temp was 6-8 degrees colder than the diagnostic says. So I ordered a hard to find ice maker wire harness to get a new thermister... But I suspect the company sent me a used harness.. I installed this harness yesterday with no change in delta from fridge display of ice compartment temp Test 145. with fridge set at 37 I was getting temps on middle shelf of 29f I did change the setpoint to 44 and now hanging near 36.
I also have messed with the Fresh food temp adjustment (211) I tried +6 but that was worse so I tried -3. One thing I read last fall about this years jenn air was that the ice compartment temp adjustment can only go from 0-+8. I think I recall that the next years Service Pointer shows they changed it to -8 to +8f. I currently have some test bags of spinach in there.

I should also add that one time during my shop testing time we had some rainy days. not all that common in dry desert Utah. not sure if it was related but I had the water flowing onto the flow issue.. This was before I replaced the new Drain tube. I guess it had the ice up on the Evap coils in the lower freezer but When I noticed this water and I looked at freezer coils there was no ice build up. I'm hoping to find someone with experience with this oldie but goodie.. or is it an old dud? i think it is a 12-13 year old unit.

I should add that on this unit the air enters the fridge compartment via the ice Box.. that is where the Damper door and fan is. The thermister is located at the top of the fridge behind the light bulbs , only 12 inches from the damper door.... What a stupid design. It seems like there should be a constant recirc fan in the fridge compartment.

I am also trying to see if ice maker on, or ice maker on with no ice makes a difference... I did hook up water in the garage but not the entire time. I have read that no water with ice maker on can cause problems per jenn air notices. AT this time it has water hooked up and filter was new in Nov.

it for sure seems related to when the ice maker is turned on. I learned of a service bulletin on this and I have ordered Whirlpool W10295078 Cover. I cant understand how this part will help... I also ordered a new damper door. Kinda shotgunning this fridge.

well not many seem to know about this issue. with an old not all that common expensive fridge. IT seems like it is a design issue. I got the new ice bin cover and a new damper. I got it on Amazon rather than APP or similar and it didn't come with directions. I'm not exactly sure where this two hole gasket goes? I did get a new damper door and also some Thermastic thermal goop. I will put it in the Ice tray Thermister hole.
One question maybe someone can answer as it is probably the same rule as all maytag and jenn air ovens and fridges.. what direction does the temperature offset in the software change things? IT has a +/- 6 or 8f adjustment.. Ice Maker off, My main fridge set point was 37, My temp reading in the diagnostic mode was like 47 My meter was 42 When I had -6 so I changed it to 0 i only waited 3 hours and diagnostic was at 42 and meter at 39. So now I set it at +2 and I will see if that gets it closer. With the icemaker on this adjustment never made any sense. I was trying to get things closer before installing the new parts but that may not be the right thing to do??

well i am posting into the silent void so that maybe this info can help someone in thew future.
I have installed the new ice maker cover door... I didn't see any difference from my old one.. The seal color was different but measures the same height. Maybe the cover was replaced before. SO it looks like I paid 96$ for the small gasket that comes with the door... The gasket goes inside the ice box into the outlet port of the damper. i had thought about this leak here being an issue so I had already installed a layer of 1/8 foam over the entire damper door to ice bin mating area. I can only figure that this foam gasket will sorta insulate the cold from conduction through the ice bin walls and then falling down in a continuous cold stream. The Engineers must have realized this issue. a continuous cold drip would be bad because it would not do anything to cool the thermister 12" horizontal and up 3" up on top of the 2 light bulbs. It also freezes beers directly below here. I wonder if the engineers figured above the warm light bulb would sorta trigger a longer cooling cycle after the door was open... longer door open warmer the light bulb and surrounding area would get.
As a mechanical engineer who understands thermodynamics it seems crazy there is not some fridge circulating fan that goes on every 15 mins for 30 seconds just to mix the air. On this fridge there is a slide deal that tries to shut off how much cold air can get into the 2 lower side by side crispers and the lower full width one.
I also just installed a new damper just for good measure and I put thermal goop on the ice tray thermister or what I think must be the thermister.. IT looks like only a single wire going to it??

I explained earlier the software on this years JFI2089AES S/N Ky1229245 only lets you adjust the ice box temperature 0- +8.. Bulletin R4317447 Jan 2009 Part Number 12827971. I found a year or so later bulletin that allowed +/- 8 f adjustment. Why is this an issue because I constantly measure the ice box temp 6 degrees cooler than the diagnostic reading and this would contribute to a cold drip into the fridge. Assuming the insulation was designed for 20 f not 14 f... Recall that heat flow is proportional to the delta temp the the 4th power!!
Trying to troubleshoot an issue like this is almost possible for any offsite repair technician due to the times involved in temperature stabilization after any corrections are made. Who all has a 2-4 channel temperature data logger in their kit? I just hope that more thermal paste will help correct this temp difference. And recall I replaced the entire Ice maker wire harness hoping the thermister was off a bit.. but no change.
Yes one could rightly question why I have not bought a new fridge. IT's war!!
I will give this a day to stabilize and replace my 3 bags of spinach leaves in the various locations... Then I will need to turn on the ice maker and see what happens.. Several other posters on the web have been befuddled how making ice seems to cause the crisper to freeze food.
IF I had a magic wand.. I would hole accountable any US Company that makes Products like this that obviously had design defects like this. CMON Kentucky.. cant you do better?. I will see if I can post some pictures... the black foam is my prior insulation attempt just in case there was a gap around the damper Assembly. I should add that some Gentleman has explored this issue and even tried to help the engineers at Jenn Aire. Greg Blonder is an inventor, scientist, entrepreneur and author. He is currently Professor of Design and Product Engineering at Boston University. Greg did a very detailed data logger temperature experiment on a Jenn Aire fridge and was in contact with the company with all the usual BS.

Im adding picture that shows where the gasket goes. It will limit the amount of air going into the fridge slightly as it has a cross member across the door.
