We have a full kitchen with the J & K line. Our double trash bin has soft-close, but somehow the soft-close no longer works. I can close it, but it doesn't grab. The back piece looks right, but I'm trying to figure out if there is a pin or something that is supposed to catch to grab the soft-close.

Any suggestions?

How old are the cabinets? Would be a good time to call the factory where you got them and ask questions. Could be they got a bad batch and will replace them for free.

I can not tell you about the latch. I do not have such fancy devices on my cabinets.

Thanks for your reply. They are about 6 years old. I have put in an email to them (closed on the weekends though). I actually found two little broken off tabs on the bottom of the drawer. They are little plastic pieces. No wonder they broke! Warranty is only 1 year. I might need to buy a whole new set of glides.

Still try to contact them. Some companies value their reputation very highly and will go above and beyond to help a customer. They call it a "good will adjustment".

Cabinet parts are almost as bad as buying parts for a new car.
Without the MFG numbers and then some luck that they still make the part. Your going up hill. I would doubt that the catch is available by itself.

I have had good luck with these mounted in the top of the door. Might have to turn the "latch" around so it does not show.

Drill a tight hole a couple of drops of wood glue and push it in.

Casually mention that point (good customer) when you contact them. You never really know how good a company is until you give them a chance to do good. Often I have reached out to the "public relations" department, they have a different budget.

Yes, replacing the slides is probably the easiest thing. (Very unlikely you are going to "fix" the old ones)
Most standard drawer slides are going to be half an in thick.
Most slides have many holes for screws (often more than you need), but unlikely that you will get lucky enough that you don't need to put new screw locations in.
You will have to read the instructions to figure out how to separate them.

Quality matters. Cheap slides you can feel the drag and detent as you pull out the drawer'.

Good news! I finally was able to get ahold of the manufacturer and they are mailing me new glides for free. :) They said that they are even made better now too.
Thanks for everyone's help on this.
