I went down to my basement and found some small pieces of wood had fallen from the ceiling. I looked up and saw that a small portion of one of the boards looked damaged. See photos.

We did have termites two years ago and it was treated by a professional. He came back last year for an inspection and said that there was no new termite activity at that time. So, could this simply be old termite damage that just randomly fell down from the ceiling now, or does it seem like new damage?

I'm not sure if I should have the inspector come out again...

Imo, that does not look like termite damage, just a piece of aged wood that has dried up and fell off. Looks like a strip of subflooring that has a knot running down the edge of it dried up and is falling off. No biggy.

IMO, that doesn't look like termite damage, just a piece of bark left on the edge of the board that dried and fell down.

Not sure where you are, different types of termites, but subterranean termites will build mud tunnels otherwise stay out of sight.
