This might seem obvious but would this rusted out piece running across the top of the three sets of windows be considered part of the window trim? I'm trying to figure out what type of contractor to call to get it repaired. Maybe it could be tuck pointing instead? I tried to take a few different pics:

I agree, it is you lintel holding up the bricks. A good sanding, metal priming and painting would make it look innocuous. It should have been done when it was installed, but it wasn't rusty when it was installed. Go figure.

A lot of builders won't pay the painter to prime/paint the steel lintels :sad:
I'd sand or wire brush it, coat with a rust inhibitive primer and apply a coat or two of exterior oil base enamel.


Some like to paint it a color close to the brick but I always thought it was easier and looked better to just paint them the same color as the window.
