I know where is the picture? My neighbor had an 8 foot by 8 foot slab poured in his backyard. Six inches along the edges it is troweled smooth, the rest is swirled brush rough.
I am trying to figure out what he is doing. Why would the edges be smooth if it was a shed. He is there maybe one hour a week so to hard to ask him.

We call it "picture-framing" or "California-edging", and I doubt from your description that it's for a shed. Possibly a little patio or hot tub slab?
