I bought some LED light modules that fit on a post sleeve. The problem is the modules need about an inch more of clearance to fit correctly on the post sleeve. I’m trying to figure a way to chip away at the 4x4 wood post to get the clearance. (The deck and railing were already constructed prior to us buying the home).

I bought a hole saw with arbor and have a Ridgid Multi-Tool with oscillating blade. I pasted a jpeg that gives an idea of the scenario.
Does anyone know of a better tool to use to remove about an inch of the 4x4?

The Forstner bit was a hit on the four 4x4 posts that needed the adjustment. Used a 2” bit with my Milwaukee corded Hole Hawg drill. My 18V cordless Ridgid just wasn’t strong enough torque-wise using the Forstner bit.
