Pump: 1 hp Hayward (above ground pool)
Age: 2nd season
Filter SAND
Condition: New (I left the pump out over the winter)
Issue: I have a hig pitched squeeling sound that I believe may be the bearings, what I want to know is can I change the bearing myself if indeed it is the bearings or do I need special tools?
Obviously I should be taking the pump indoors but is it absolutley necessary to do that as my old Hayward was left out for many years w/o any issues.
Is it best to replace the bearings or the entire pump and how long does it take as I do not want to leave my pool w/o filtration during the repair process.
Thanks,
